It is no longer a news that alcohol is
not healthy for pregnant women. US experts warns that alcohol is not necessary at all while Royal College of Obstericians and Gynecologists suggest that the first three month of pregnancy is worse to drink alcohol.

•It restricts the growth of the child
• According to RCOG, it could cause miscarriage in the first three months
Women are advised to drink rarely during pregnancy to avoid complications. Some of the damages once they are done, they can not be reversed. Heavy drinking by either man or woman can also cause inability to conceive. Even breastfeeding mothers could do their babies favour by avoiding alcohol.
“Coffee is not safe in pregnancy. It contains some stimulants
which are vaso-constrictors which reduce blood supply to the
baby. So, it’s not safe in pregnancy" according to Mr. Ezechi, who is also a medical researcher at the Nigerian
Institute of Medical Research, NIMR, Yaba.
Research however shows that low level of alcohol maybe after three months into pregnancy might be beneficial. But the bottom line is to keep it low.
